As one of the UK’s leading centres for Physics research, we are seeking to recruit an experimental physicist to join the STFC-funded NUSTAR project to build the Silicon tracker for the future R3B experiment at FAIR (Darmstadt, Germany). You will be particularly involved in the construction and testing of the Silicon detectors for the tracker and will also take part in our ongoing experimental programme at the GSI accelerator laboratory (Darmstadt, Germany), to study nucleon-nucleon correlations in isospin-asymmetric nuclei via studies of quasifree scattering reactions. You should have a PhD (or be about to obtain) and experience of research in Nuclear or Particle Physics. The post is available from 1 April 2012 for 36 months.
