New - child care for people coming to CERN for short periods

Dear colleagues,

The “Jardin de Capucine”, a new childcare facility exclusively built for CERN personnel, has opened its doors on 1 November 2011.

Very conveniently located at only a few hundred meters from CERN entrance E, it offers childcare facilities from children from 4 months up to 4 years of age.

CERN Management has specifically earmarked 4 places (of the 40 available) for short term child care.

Short term should be understood as either a period of one week to up to 3 months, either shorter periods but at regular intervals. Turn-over on these places is expected to be high, especially if the duration is short.

These 4 places are made available as from now and can be booked in advance for any period in 2012 by contacting directly the crèche. Places will be allocated on a first come/first served basis.

After 1 year of experience, an evaluation will be made and the number of short term places will be increased or decreased to adapt to the need.

It is therefore important that the information is spread to the community of associated members of personnel as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Any ideas/feedback is welcome.

Being in contact with people coming to CERN for short periods, we ask you to help us spread the info on this opportunity to the CERN Users’ community.

One way of doing this would be to mention this childcare opportunity systematically and explicitly when sending invitations for any of the short term events you organize (eg experiment week, high school teacher program, …) ? Another way is to forward this mail to anyone else you think might be interested.
